It has provided over 2\u202fmillion free prosthetic limbs, calipers, wheelchairs, and mobility aids through its 23 branches and over 80 outreach camps both in India and abroad .<\/p>\n<p>BMVSS developed the iconic Jaipur Foot, a low-cost, versatile prosthetic legal from 1968 that enables users to walk, run, squat, climb, and drive, even in barefoot environments using only about $45 worth of materials. Their innovation extended into the Stanford-Jaipur Knee named one of TIME\u2019s \u201c50 Best Inventions\u201d in 2009 which mimics natural gait with a polycentric four-bar design.
